Strickland Metals Continues To Deliver Thick Gold And Base Metals at Serbian Project

Strickland Metals Ltd (ASX:STK) has continued to demonstrate a mineralised system of ‘significant’ scale with multiple thick zones of gold-copper-zinc-silver mineralisation intersected at its Rogozna Gold and Base Metals Project in Serbia.

At the field, the company’s 10,000-metre diamond drill program resumed at the Medenovac prospect this week, targeting to deliver a maiden mineral resource estimate by early 2025.

On the financial front, Strickland remains well funded with about A$51.4 million in cash and Northern Star Resources Ltd (ASX: NST) shares as of the end of the March quarter.

Drill summary

Stand-out assays from the Medenovac prospect include:

  • ZRSD24147:63.4 metres at 1.3g/t gold equivalent from 244.2 metres, including,14 metres at 2.8g/t gold equivalent 285.6 metres;
  • ZRSD24147:86 metres at 1.0 g/t gold equivalent from 418 metres; and
  • ZRSD24148: 128.5 metres at 1.4g/t gold equivalent from 298 metres, including, 40.1 metres at 1.9g/t gold equivalent from 386.5 metres.

Notably, the result in ZRSD24147 is particularly significant as it was a step-out hole drilled about 150 metres along strike to the northwest of the “discovery zone”

Strickland Chairman Anthony McClure said: “We are extremely pleased to return such positive numbers from our first results at Rogozna.

“The Medenovac Prospect continues to deliver strong drilling results, with multiple thick zones of Gold-Copper-Zinc-Silver mineralisation intersected, including 128.5m @ 1.4g/t Au Eq1 from 298m (incl. 40.1m @ 1.9g/t Au Eq1 ) in ZRSD24148.

“This intersection is a down-dip extension of the mineralisation encountered in ZRSD21136, which intersected a phenomenal 352.1m @ 2.1g/t Au Eq1 (incl. 97.7m @ 5.1g/t Au Eq1 ) from 240m.”

Looking ahead

Further drilling at Medenovac is progressing, with approximately 10,000 metres planned to systematically explore the prospective skarn volume.

This effort aims to determine the controls and geometry of the higher-grade mineralisation zones in preparation for a maiden mineral resource estimate.

Additionally, drilling at Shanac continues to advance well, with two rigs currently focusing on the core of the deposit.

A fourth diamond rig is expected to arrive on-site by the end of June, dedicated to testing the extensive target pipeline, including several compelling copper-gold porphyry targets.
