Prospect Resources Delivers Strong Lithium Hits in Africa

Africa-focused explorer, Prospect Resources Ltd (ASX:PSC) has demonstrated strong lithium potential at its Step Aside Lithium Project in Zimbabwe and Omaruru Lithium Project in Namibia.

At Step Aside, the company has continued to clock strong lithium hits from its phase 4 diamond drilling program.

Meanwhile, phase 2 drilling at Omaruru has highlighted further extensions of the Karlsbrunn Main deposit root zone feeder system from surface, which remains open at depth.

Moving forward, the company is now shifting its key focus to the recently acquired Mumbezhi Copper Project in Zambia.

Alongside this, Prospect will be undertaking a comprehensive review focused on the range of potential commercialisation routes for Step Aside and Omaruru.

Prospect’s African Portfolio

Regional scale potential

Step Aside is situated on just one square kilometre of tenement, only 8 kilometres from the Arcadia lithium mine and has been significantly derisked, representing an exciting, advanced exploration play with regional scale potential.

Some of the standout assays from the  project include:

  • 13 metres at 1.68% lithium from 75.5 metres– WinBin;
  • 3 metres at 1.25% lithium from 179.9 metres, including, 11 metres at 1.60% lithium oxide from 182 metres – Pegmatite E; and
  • 5 metres at 1.68% lithium from 149 metres – Pegmatite C

At this stage, Step aside is set up to be monetised to potentially help fund Prospect’s priority exploration and development of the Mumbezhi Copper Project.

Further extensions at Omaruru

Prospect completed its follow-up Phase 2 RAB and RC drilling program at Omaruru in mid-April, with a total of 77 holes completed for 4,249 metres.

Notably, the results indicated further extensions to the Karlsbrunn Main deposit root feeder system from surface and further anomalous mineralisation along strike to the north of Brockmans.

Furthermore, the company’s technical programs have significantly increased the understanding of the project.
