Marquee Resources Set To Resume Drilling at Redlings REE project

Marquee Resources Ltd (ASX:MQR) is making preparations to resume drilling operations at its Redlings REE project near Leonora in Western Australia.

The company’s drill program aims to target five key areas which has ‘significant’ surficial anomalism to potentially define a near-surface mineral resource.

To do this, the company has engaged Nexgen Drilling to complete a 2000-metre reverse circulation (RC) program targeting surficial REE mineralisation at the project.

“It’s an exciting phase of exploration as we use our new knowledge and understanding to unlock the Project’s full potential, with our aim to delineate a mineral resource following the drilling program,” said Chairman Charles Thomas

Exploration to date

At the field, Marquee recently completed four RC drillholes across 1,304 metres at the Redlings REE Project.

During the program, the company targeted dense pipe-like bodies that are interpreted to represent carbonatite intrusions, extending to significant depths.

Notably, results from drilling completed by the company in 2021 and 2024, identified significant zones of surficial mineralisation, including:

  • 5 metres at 9,100ppm TREO from surface, including, 2 metres at 18,600ppm TREO from 2 metres; and
  • 14 metres at 980ppm TREO from surface

About the project

The Redlings Project is situated approximately 40 kilometres west of Leonora, and 77 kilometres north of Menzies in Western Australia.

The company has greatly enhanced the understanding of the Redlings Project through geophysics, geochemistry and drilling and the carbonatite intrusions are now interpreted to strike NNE.

Consequently, the company is now using these recent advancements to drill test these targets with the aim of making a significant REE discovery.

Marquee’s other exciting projects include West Spargoville Project (lithium) the Yindi Project (lithium), Mt Clement (antimony and gold), Clayton Valley (lithium), Kibby Basin (lithium) and Lone Star (copper and gold).
