EQ Resources Hits Strong Tungsten Grades Following Record Quarter At Mt Carbine Operations

EQ Resources Ltd (ASX: EQR) has revealed promising results from drilling at the Mt Carbine tungsten mine in Far North Queensland.

13 infill reverse circulation (RC) holes were drilled to confirm the consistency of the high-grade vein systems in Stage 2 Pit.

Notably, individual veins with true widths of 0.3-2.5m were intersected at 0.5% to 3.66% tungsten trioxide (WO3) grades.

The latest assays follow record quarterly production at Mt Carbine despite the effects of tropical cyclone Jasper.

Modelling work on track

EQR Chief Geologist Tony Bainbridge said: “This area of the pit had only limited 50m spaced drilling and with the deepening of the pit, we started to see larger veins coming in and wanted to select a section to do this detailed analysis.

“Our team has long postulated that below the 315-325m level, the main ore body would be intercepted and it is pleasing to see these high-grade vein packages appearing at a critical time in our ramp-up.”

Bainbridge said that being able to look at veining under UV light on the wall has given EQR comfort the modelling was on track, with the drilling confirming.

Record tungsten production

EQ ended the March 2024 quarter with record tungsten concentrate production (50% WO3 equivalent) from its Mt Carbine operations.

The operation produced 507 tonnes in the quarter despite recovering from Tropical Cyclone Jasper.

This represents a quarter-on-quarter improvement at Mt Carbine of +38% in tungsten output (Q2FY2024 vs. Q3FY2024).
