Dateline Resources Limited Has Two Drill Rigs Turning At Colosseum Gold Mine in California

Dateline Resources Limited (ASX: DTR) has two drill rigs turning at its Colosseum Gold Mine in California targeting high-grade pockets.

Earlier drilling intercepted an exciting 70.1 metre section at a 6.53g/t gold, including a higher grade section of 25.9m at 15.31g/t Au.

Geochemical analysis of those results included 100m at 4.16g/t Au in one drill hole and 10.67m at 13.71g/t Au in another.

It’s not surprising that the second drill rig is at work at the project in the Walker Lane Trend in East San Bernardino County, California.

This seeks to build upon a very tidy Mineral Resource to date of 813,000 ounces of gold grading 1.2 grams per tonne.

The Colosseum Mine of Dateline’s is located less than 10km north of the Mountain Rare Earth mine owned by MP Materials (NYSE: MP). It is home to one of the richest deposits of rare earths in the world.

As well, the reverse circulation drill rig will infill drill high-grade zones to improve the resource categorisation to Measured or Indicated in preparation for underground mine planning studies.

The diamond drill rig that was mobilised to the site in December 2023 will test deeper and wider sections of the breccia pipe to expand the known mineralised zone.

An RC rig generally gets to a mineralised zone faster than a core rig and will focus on better defining the high-grade pockets.

Another bonus is drill results are available within a shorter time frame.
